Leather , silver & bead work "kazoo"
Even before establishing the brand kazoo, I was interested in Native American jewelry (especially beadwork by Plains tribes) and indigenous cultures, and in 2001, I visited the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
I create everything myself, from various standard products based on "deer leather and beadwork" to full custom orders, using the Lazy Stitch, one of the most popular traditional techniques of the Plains tribes (especially the Lakota).
The designs for the beadwork are shaped by what I want to express now, based on what I felt during my travels through the Lakota lands, the people I met there, and my experiences.
Finally, the name "kazoo" came about when the grandson of an elder who helped me at the Indian reservation couldn't pronounce my name "Kazumi" properly and suddenly started calling me "Kazoo!!" Since then, it has become my nickname and business name.
