Born in Tokyo in 1963. Debuted in 1983 with "MOP HUNTER" published in "Shonen Sunday Special Issue". From 1985, "To-y" was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday". His sharp art and unique, keen sensibility gained support from many fans. Representative works include "SEX", "Red x Black", and "8 - EIGHT -".

In 1985, amidst a band boom, "To-y" was published in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" and depicted "sound" in a way that overturned the conventions of manga, influencing numerous music manga and musicians.
