"Natural indigo dyeing" involves cultivating "Polygonum tinctorium," which is the material for indigo dyeing, in Tokushima. This is then fermented to create "sukumo," which, along with lye, wheat bran, and other natural materials, is used to make a fermented dye liquid. Each item is then hand-dyed.
There are various methods of indigo dyeing, but this "natural indigo dyeing" is the most traditional method, utilizing the inherent characteristics of indigo.
As you use it, the color will change, and this aging process will make it a unique item that is truly yours.
