Biography:
Formed around 1992 based on a previous band featuring guitarist & vocalist Taiki N., organist Ave, and drummer Takero. The following year, guitarist Ippei joined, and the band went on hiatus in 1996, only to restart in 2002 as "Soulcrap." With the addition of illustrator Kads MIIDA, they released their 1st album "Riddim & Blues" in 2010, followed by "Quite Natural" in 2011, and "Too Hot! Road!" in 2012. After their 4th album "We're Rollin" in 2015, they consistently released 7-inch EPs, collaborating with "RUDE GALLERY," "RAW," and "The Slackers," and continued their live activities nationwide. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Gane joined on bass, and in 2024, seeking further depth, they changed their name to "TheSoulclap." From R&B, Soul, Blues, Jazz to Ska, Rock Steady, Reggae, Latin... a groove born from the intertwining of rhythm and blues, imbued with the heat of soulful fragments. Here lies the Tokyo rude music, matured with the aroma of sake and smoke.
