ROBERTA BAYLEY TALK SHOW

Roberta Bayley, the photographer who took the 1970s New York punk scene by storm and has collaborated with RUDE GALLERY countless times.

She will be visiting Japan and, in conjunction with her visit, will hold a talk show at RUDE GALLERY TOKYO.

She will share numerous anecdotes related to her extremely valuable photographs that document the history of rock.

Naosumi Mashiko of Dohatsuten will be invited as a guest interviewer, and we hope you will experience the legendary words and images.


- ROBERTA BAYLEY –
While living in London, she met Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood. She then started working as an usher at CBGB, the legendary live music venue in New York, where she spent time surrounded by bands that would later become world-famous, such as Richard Hell, Ramones, and Blondie.
She discovered her talent for photography by chance and has since provided photographs to American punk magazines and rock magazines worldwide, as well as designing album covers for artists such as Ramones and Richard Hell.
Her photographs, which capture the personal side of artists before they became famous, have become extremely valuable historical documents for the history of rock.
In recent years, she has been remarkably active, with a Blondie photo book composed solely of her photographs, as well as photo books on CBGB and punk, and participation in the "Band a Part" photo exhibition organized by agnès b.

*Handover of the ROBERTA BAYLEY TALK SHOW TOTE BAG (￥3,000/includes admission ticket) will begin at RUDE GALLERY TOKYO at 12:00 PM on the day of the event.
Those who have not received their bags will not be able to participate in the TALK SHOW.
Please arrive with plenty of time.
